Trace back in words – The 4th Hong Kong Book Art Festival, JCCAC / The Fringe Club, Hong Kong, 2022
All lives are equal in the sphere; equally, we are given the voice to speak, and then vanish into thin air.
Records were erased, recounted, just to be erased again.
When simply a push of a button can annihilate everything in the virtual world, what, then, would be left?

The texts and images on display are dated in 2015, when Tiana Wong stayed in Taiwan as an artist in residence and started an exchange project with artist Iris Lo in Hong Kong. Every day they shared with each other a poem and an image of “white”. The twenty-day project was also a countdown for them, as they promised an meet up in Taiwan on the last day.

Day after day, people cross paths with books and are enchanted by words around them. Sometimes, they open a book and start a game of affinity simply for its luring cover. Some say that a person can be read through his or her bookshelf – the artist has collected a lot of books in white, their whiteness come from their covers, the texts or the hidden microcosms. Through a turntable, audiences encounter with the white books, continuing the preceding affinities; yet, it is simply the prologue of the game.

At the end of the sea
The light is broken You are broken I am fallen
The End of the Sea is a poem written by the artist. The interpretative texts written in oppositional directors on the work, as if one is prying his/her own emotions from a different angle, document a passing romance. At the edge of the sea, texts and meanings float along the tide, as if emotions fade like the snowy splashes. Footprints are erased, by the waves and the layers of bubbles.

We look at different views of the world with subtitles; with words or images that the visions put influence on us? The tales of fortuity, brought by occasionally miswritten subtitles, have their own kind of enchantments.
The text wipes my body, and, throw myself into the story again…

I make a book everyday, like a diary, to record the fault I made.
